SNHMC has nine operating roomsuites, 25 pre-op/PACU bays, and a sterile processing department.
Hours are flexible, with 8
- 10• and 12-hour day shifts available.
The OR has a dedicated call team Sunday through Thursday nightsbeginning at 7PM, making OR call minimal. Services range fromelective and non-elective procedures, including neurological,orthopedic, gynecological, urological, bariatric, colorectal,vascular, ENT, general, breast, and plastics. Surgical services aregrowing and evolving, utilizing the latest technology for the widevariety of procedures we perform. The OR also offers Periop-101 andadvancements. About the
Job:
As a member of the Patient CareServices team, the Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) caresfor patients aged 6 months through adulthood who requiresurgical/invasive interventions under one of the various types ofanesthesia. Nursing care is delivered utilizing a patient-centeredapproach and incorporating the Professional Practice Model. The ORRN provides patient-centered care through teamwork andcollaboration to achieve quality patient outcomes. He/Sheintegrates best practices and current evidence-based practices fordelivery of optimal health care. The OR RN uses data to improvequality and safety and uses informatics and technology tocommunicate, manage information, mitigate errors, and supportdecision making.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver nursing care byutilizing a patient-centered approach incorporating theProfessional Practice Model.
- Provide patient-centered carethrough teamwork and collaboration to achieve quality patientoutcomes.
- Integrate best practices and current evidence-basedpractices for delivery of optimal health care.
- Utilize data toimprove quality and safety.
- Incorporate informatics andtechnology to communicate, manage information, mitigate errors, andsupport decision making.
Who You Are:
- Graduate from an accreditedschool with an AND
- Registered Nurse with the state of NH orcompact state
- Maintains professional nursing practice and attendseducational conferences to keep abreast of current trends and bestpractices.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to achieve unit specific competencies by identified timeline in Appendix for specific unit.
