Job:
OR Nurses provide sterility and safety for all surgical procedures.
You must examine, take vital signs, verify allergies, and answerquestions to prepare patients for surgery. You must also monitoreach patient, record vital signs changes, and use sterile equipmentduring operation. After surgery, you must dispose of medical wasteand disinfect the OR room before closing. You must ensure patientsafety and satisfaction before, during, and after surgery. Thisprofessional ensures that all procedures go smoothly and thatpatients return home healthy. What You’ll Do:
Assessing patient needs before, during and after a surgicalprocedure. Operating specialized medical equipment including anesthesiamachines and ventilators. Preparing patients for surgery by scrubbing, gowning andpositioning them on the operating table. Monitoring vital signs of patients while they are under generalanesthesia. Additionally, maintaining records of medicationsadministered to ensure accuracy.
Who You Are:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelors of Sciencein Nursing preferred. Minimum two (2) years experience as a circulator required. New Hampshire Registered Nurse or Compact State Registered NurseLicense. Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientationperiod and maintain during employment. ACLS preferred.
