varies The New Graduate Registered Nurse joins our Vizient/AACN NurseResidency Program beginning on August 3, 2022. In the role as an RNhe/she/they are responsible for utilizing the nursing process toprovide comprehensive care appropriate to the age of the patientsserved in Adult Medical SurgicalUnits as directed by nursingmanagement. Nursing care is provided in accordance with the statedphilosophy and standards established by the Nursing ServiceDepartment, regulatory agencies and professional organizations. TheRegistered Nurse is accountable for the safety of nursing care theydeliver or supervise. The Registered Nurse is responsible to thepatient and the family or significant others for the quality ofdirect and indirect nursing care delivered as well as the Unitleadership team.

About Emerson’s Nurse Residency Program – Emerson Hospital has partnered with the Vizient/AACN NurseResidency Program to provide our new graduate nurses with evidencebased curriculum that enhances their transition to practice. The curriculum is focused oncritical areas for successful transition from student to practicenurse: leadership, the professional role, communication, evidencebased practice and patient outcomes. Learning opportunities includeclassroom, simulation and seminars. Within the Vizient/AACN NurseResidency Program you will build relationships with other newgraduate nurses in your cohort and you will have access to a designated preceptor to help guide you in your first year ofnursing.
