MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with major study in nursing, human services, psychology, or a related field.

Three years’ experience as a registered nurse in areas such as ambulatory care, correctional nursing, emergency care, psychiatric nursing, medical surgical nursing, school nursing, pediatrics or other nursing specialty areas related to the certifications noted in the following section, #3. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

- Current license as a Registered Nurse in New Hampshire.
Current certification in CPR.Must possess one or more of the following certifications: ANCC certification in Ambulatory Care Nursing, Cardiac-Vascular Nursing, Gerontological Nursing, Informatics Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Nursing Case Management, Nursing Professional Development, Pain Management Nursing, Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing; NCCHC certification as Correctional Health Professional-RN; NCBDE certification as Diabetes Educator; AADE Board Certification in Advanced Diabetes Management; APIC certification in Infection Prevention and Control; National Alliance of Wound Care certification in Wound Care.

Successful completion of the Corrections Academy and continuing Certification as correctional line personnel as established by the certifying authority.
- Responsibilities
- :
Plans and organizes nursing care services within a health services center of a correctional facility.
Provides nursing care through the development and implementation of nursing care plans collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including medical and forensics and security staff.
Assists Nurse Coordinator in development and implementation of a team-based care model and primary care nursing for target populations.
Leads the nursing team in developing expertise to serve as a champion in specific clinical areas and ensuring that patient education for specific conditions is included as part of thetreatment plan.
