Home Infusion Registered NursePurposeStatementHome infusion therapy (HIT) is a method of administeringinfusion therapy directly in a patient’s home as well as in othersettings such as nursing homes, hospitals, and outpatient clinics.

The versatility of HIT provides patients with more autonomy overtheir care.

The role of a Home Infusion RN involves deliveringexcellent patient care. This specialized position caters to adultpatients, providing them with the necessary treatment. As a HomeInfusion RN, your primary responsibility is infusion therapyinvolving a variety of treatments including but not limited toIVIG, monoclonal antibodies, enzyme replacement, clotting factor,and other agents using various methods of administration. This jobrequires a blend of clinical expertise and compassionate care.

Thisposition reports to the Area Director of Infusion Services.

RequiredEducation and ExperienceCurrent and valid RN license.

A minimum of 3years nursing experience is required.

Excellent IV skills and apassion for working with patients.

Strong clinical assessment andcritical thinking skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonalskills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a homecare setting.

Proficient in electronic health record (EHR)documentation.

Candidates must have excellent IV skills and enjoyworking with patients.

Successful candidates will likely develop asteady caseload of grateful and satisfied patients.

Previousexperience in critical care areas preferred.

Minimum of 1 year inhospital infusion therapy, home infusion therapypreferred.

Certification in infusion therapy (CRNI) is aplus.

Preferred area of expertise to include pediatrics and adultmedical care.

ResponsibilitiesAdminister infusion therapies,including IVIG, monoclonal antibodies, enzyme replacement, andclotting factor, following physician orders and establishedprotocols.

Assess and monitor patients during infusion therapy toensure safety and efficacy.

Educate patients and their families oninfusion therapy procedures, potential side effects, and self-carepractices.

Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and otherhealthcare professionals to develop and implement patient careplans.

Provide comprehensive patient assessments, including physicaland psychosocial factors, to tailor care to individualneeds.

Document patient care activities, treatment plans, andoutcomes promptly and accurately.

Participate in continuousprofessional development to stay abreast of industry trends,guidelines, and best practices.

Other duties as assigned.

WorkEnvironmentThis position travels to the patients home or otherclinical settings as needed. Assumes on-call responsibilitiesduring the day, evening, weekends, and holidays per individualemployee agreement.
