What You’ll Do:
- An Adolescent PsychiatricRegistered Nurse provides specialized nursing care for adolescents12-17 with mental health disorders, emotional challenges, orbehavioral issues.
In our Adolescent Crisis Stabilization Unit theRN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, treat,and support young patients in managing conditions like depression,anxiety, bipolar disorder, patients in crisis, schizophrenia,substance use, or trauma related disorders.
- The registered nurseworking in the Adolescent Crisis Stabilization Unit will providecompassionate and skilled nursing care to adolescents experiencingmental health challenges, behavioral issues, or substance useconcerns.
This role involves working closely with young patients,their families, and healthcare teams to promote emotionalwell-being, manage mental health conditions, and supportrecovery.
An Adolescent Psychiatric Registered Nurse deliversdedicated nursing care to adolescents navigating mental healthchallenges, substance use issues or behavioral crises, with astrong emphasis on supporting recovery during crisis. This roleinvolves working collaboratively with healthcare teams and familiesto stabilize patients and guide them toward long-termwell-being.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Providesprescribed medical treatment and personal care services forclients.
Administers medication and then evaluates and monitorsclients for medication side effects.
- Coordinates, consults, andproblem solves medical care and intervention with other teammembers and providers.
Provides clinical assessment and problemidentification, crisis interventions, documents significantinteractions, and maintains clinical charts and other reportingdata.
- Develops, implements, and maintains a medicationadministration system.
Serves as liaison for the pharmacy, ordersmeds, maintains medication supplies at necessary levels andconducts medication counts. Meets with drug company representativesand assists with information and instruction regarding medicationprograms offered by manufacturers.
Will screen and evaluate labreports and refer abnormalities to the provider.
Audits medications,destruction of medications and MARS according to stateregulations.
Educates clients and consumers on medications.
Documentsprogress notes on therapy and medications and reports medicationerrors.
