Responsibilities:
The primary function of the Nurse Educatoris to orient and educate all nursing personnel in the nursingcenter and to ensure safe effective nursing care according to thefederal, state, and facility guidelines, policies and procedures.
Report to the Director of Nursing Develop education programs inresponse to staff needs and teach staff current accepted patientcare and nursing center practices. Supervise and monitor newnursing employees throughout their individualized orientationperiod. Perform annual competency testing and evaluation andclinically appraise nursing staff performance to identify areas foreducation. Provide oversight to Employee Health Program to includeadministering and tracking of tuberculosis and hepatitis vaccineand tracking of influenza immunizations for all employees.
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of an accredited School ofNursing with current RN license Minimum three years full-time orequivalent clinical experience preferred Two years of clinicalexperience in long-term care nursing with one year as an educatorpreferred Excellence in clinical nursing skills required Experiencein Gerontology preferred Training and/or experience in adultlearning preferred
