POSITION SUMMARY
To fulfill the needs ofpatients in a variety of age groups, their family members, and thecommunity by performing varied patient care tasks and functions inaccordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatoryrequirements.
EDUCATION
Bachelor`s degree in Nursing required.
Effective 12/1/11, all new hires will need to have a BSN as aminimum requirement or a Master’s degree in Nursing. Current/validState of New Jersey license (or legal permission to work from theNew Jersey Board of
N EXPERIENCE
Computer and keyboard skills.
Medical terminology required.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Physical andcognitive requirements: Position’s physical requirementsnecessitate a full range of body motion including but not limitedto, physically assisting patients, requiring stretching, bending,lifting, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushingand pulling. Position is classified according to the USDOL as VeryHeavy Work which is defined as exerting in excess of 100 pounds offorce occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of forcefrequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly tomove objects. The National Institute of Safety and Health (NIOSH0guidelines, which recommends that the average worker not lift morethan 51 pounds without assistance, will be followed. Manual andfinger dexterity and hand-eye coordination are also required as isconstant talking and listening in English. Must demonstrateeffective oral and written communication skills, including speechclarity, understanding the information relayed, deductive andinductive reasoning skills (the ability to apply general rules tospecific problems to produce answers that make sense and theability to combine pieces of information to/from general rules orconclusion respectively). Considerable walking, standing, sitting,reaching, filing, typing and photocopying required. Ability toperform work accurately and pay attention to details, oftenchanging from one task to another without loss of efficiency orcomposure. Ability to function competently in stressful situationsand changing work environment related to changing needs of patientswith acute, chronic and complex and/or terminal disease processes.
Ability to work cooperatively within health system,multidisciplinary team members (i.e. MD’s, Rehab, Respiratory, DI,Laboratory, etc). Ability to utilize effective time managementskills to set priorities to perform responsibilities, problem solveand deliver care.
