Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and reliable Nurse (RN or LPN) to join our clinical team. The Nurse will play a critical role in supporting patients through the early stages of recovery, delivering high-quality nursing care during residential treatment. This position requires strong clinical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow all policies and procedures, including those related to medical services, medication management, HIPAA, and infection prevention and control. Maintain and keep current all State of New Jersey educational requirements for medical licensure. Stay updated with current research and developments in substance abuse, dual diagnosis, and nursing practices. Adhere to practice standards and ensure compliance with agency guidelines and state, federal, and Joint Commission standards. Participate in Clinical Executive level management meetings as required. Perform Nursing Admission Assessments according to accepted nursing standards. Respond to patient inquiries in a timely manner, including side effects, medication questions, care plans, and medication refusals. Resolve patient issues by collaborating with the multidisciplinary treatment team. Maintain Medication Observation Records and revise them as necessary per doctor’s orders. Document patient care services accurately in patient records. Seek supervision and guidance from the Medical Director, Nurse Practitioner, or RN when medical interventions exceed the scope of practice. Provide supervision and training to behavioral health technicians and team members who observe clients’ self-administration of medication. Monitor and assess the physical and mental health of clients in residential care. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with medical protocols and physician orders. Observe and document client responses, withdrawal symptoms, and medication effectiveness. Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and treatment team members to develop and implement individualized care plans. Provide crisis intervention and respond to medical emergencies as needed. Educate clients on medication, health, and wellness during discharge planning. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and facility standards, including maintaining accurate and timely medical records.
Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse license or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey Minimum of 1 year of experience in substance abuse treatment, behavioral health, or related field preferred CPR/BLS certification required Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred Strong communication, critical thinking, and time management skills Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment Understanding of withdrawal symptoms and withdrawal management (preferred but not required – training provided)
