Role:

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Perioperative Services Educator to lead surgical services education across two ambulatory surgery centers in South Jersey. This newly created role supports the integration and expansion of perioperative education, with a strong focus on orthopedic and neurosurgical specialties. The ideal candidate will have experience with Periop 101, a strong background in the OR, and a proactive approach to curriculum development and staff education.

What You’ll Do:

Develop and implement education programs for perioperative staff across OR, Pre-op, Post-op, and Surgical Tech roles Lead the coordination and instruction of the Periop 101 program, customizing the curriculum for a new facility Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for surgical services staff at both locations Collaborate with vendors to facilitate training on new equipment and procedures Review, update, and implement departmental policies to align with current evidence-based practices Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards Support onboarding, orientation, and ongoing competency development for clinical staff Promote continuous learning and professional development across departments

Qualifications:

Active New Jersey RN license (required) BSN required; MSN highly preferred (or willingness to obtain within 2 years of hire) Minimum of 3 years of perioperative nursing experience; 5 years preferred At least 1 year of educator experience, with direct instruction of Periop 101 Strong orthopedic and/or neurosurgical clinical background Familiarity with program development and educational planning in a surgical environment Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
