As a Critical Care Nurse, you will be responsible for monitoring patients, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Duties Assess and monitor patients’ conditions in critical care settings, providing timely interventions as needed. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and standards. Perform specimen collection processing and maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities. Collaborate with healthcare professionals in case management to develop and implement individualized care plans. Provide education and support to patients and families regarding treatment options, home care needs, and recovery processes. Utilize coding knowledge, including ICD-9, for accurate documentation and billing purposes. Participate in emergency medicine procedures as required, ensuring readiness for any critical situations. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in critical care nursing. Skills Proficient in aseptic technique and adherence to healthcare standards. Knowledgeable in ICD-9 coding practices relevant to patient care documentation. Experience in ophthalmology or toddler care is a plus but not required. Strong background in home care services and case management is desirable. Ability to perform specimen collection processing effectively. Excellent communication skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and patient education. Strong critical thinking skills to assess situations quickly and make informed decisions under pressure.
