Job Summary:
- Provides direct nursing care in accordance withestablished policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcareorganization.
Responsibilities:
- Implements and monitors patientcare plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition asappropriate.
- Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplinesfor well-coordinated patient care.
- Notes and carries outphysician and nursing orders.
- Assesses and coordinates patient’sdischarge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assess patientsand to identify physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual andage-related needs in order to provide individualized care to thepatient.
- Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnelconsistent with their level of education and expertise in order tomeet patients’ needs and to maximize staff performance.
- Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds.
Demonstrates knowledge of patients’ condition and is able toprovide appropriate input to meet desired outcomes for theappropriate patient population.
- Reflects ANA Scope and Standardsof Nursing Practice (2015), ANA Code of Ethics (2015), and ANASocial Policy Statement (2015).
- Develops, implements and revisesindividualized plans of care.
- Participates in activities forprofessional growth and development outside of patient care.

- Must havelabor and delivery experience.
- Graduate of an accredited nursingschool.
- Associate degree required, BSN preferred.
- CurrentConnecticut RN license.
- BLS certification by the American HeartAssociation.
- Two years of Medical-Surgical/Critical Careexperience preferred.
