The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in inpatient care and demonstrate exceptional skills in patient assessment and recovery management. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and comfort of patients as they emerge from anesthesia, requiring a keen understanding of trauma medicine and urgent care protocols. Duties Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort. Monitor vital signs and assess patient conditions post-surgery, identifying any complications that may arise. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including basic life support when necessary. Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans. Educate patients and their families on post-operative care, discharge instructions, and follow-up appointments. Maintain accurate patient records, including ICD-9 coding for diagnoses and procedures. Assist with catheterization as needed, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques. Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the PACU to enhance patient outcomes. Experience Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Previous experience in an inpatient setting is preferred; experience in outpatient care or nursing homes is a plus. Familiarity with trauma medicine practices and urgent care protocols. Proficient in basic life support techniques; advanced certifications are advantageous. Experience with mammography procedures is beneficial but not required. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
