Required Qualifications:

One year of recentexperience as an RN in a long-term care setting Valid RN license incompliance with state regulations Current BLS (AHA/ARC) or

CPRcertification Preferred Qualifications:

ACLS Certification Othercertifications may be required depending on facility requirements

Summary:

A Registered Nurse (RN) in a long-term care (LTC) facilityprovides skilled nursing care to residents, ensuring their health,comfort, and well-being. RNs oversee patient care plans, administertreatments, monitor for changes in condition, and collaborate withhealthcare teams to provide high-quality, resident-centered care.

They also play a key role in supervising nursing staff, educatingresidents and families, and ensuring compliance with healthcareregulations and facility policies.

Essential Work Functions:

Assesspatient or resident health, monitor for changes, and takeappropriate action to ensure their well-being Develop, update, andimplement personalized care plans in collaboration with residents,families, and the patient care team Administer medications andtreatments safely and accurately Observe residents for anymedication reactions or changes in condition and report concerns tothe healthcare provider Provide treatments including wound care, IVtherapy, catheter management, and other skilled procedures withinscope of practice Supervise and support LPNs and CNAs delegatingappropriately and ensuring residents receive quality care Educateresidents and families on medications, treatments, and managingchronic conditions Document care provided, resident progress, andany health changes in a timely manner Respond quickly toemergencies, delivering critical care and coordinating with medicalteams when needed Work closely with physicians, therapists, andother healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, comprehensivecare Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practiceAdhere to facility safety protocols, infection control guidelines,and regulatory standards

Required Essential Skills:

Criticalthinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communicationskills The ability to read, write, & communicate in the Englishlanguage is required Ability to read/comprehend writteninstructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PCskills Physical Abilities

  • Remain in a stationary position, moveabout, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bendingInterpersonal Skills
  • To work effectively with a variety ofpersonnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positiveattitude and professionalism Technical/Motor Skills
  • Ability tograsp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move aboutwhen assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.

Mental Requirements

  • Must be able to cope with frequent contactwith the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines underpressure.
