About the unit Neuroscience nurses provide care for patient witha various illness of the brain and nervous system in this 32-bedneuro-medical unit. Patient diagnosis include but are not limitedto CVA, TIA’s, Parkinson’s disease, Seizures, Multiple sclerosisand other Neurological disorders. Nurses will also be caring forother general medical surgical patients with various illnesses inthis area. The unit has 12 telemetry beds for patients requiringclose cardiac and neurological monitoring. It is a Level II trauma centerand has been recognized for clinical excellence and innovation inthe fields of orthopedics, neurosciences, women’s health, heart &vascular, and cancer care. Scope of work The RN, under the ANAscope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process toprovide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-familycentered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, anddischarge. The RN provides quality patient care under the directionof the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies andprocedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care andpatient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN partnerswith and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning planof care and develops teaching strategies for patient/family;documents education and learning appropriately in health record.
Qualifications Associates in Nursing Required Bachelors in NursingRequired within 5 years Graduates from a non-accredited school ofnursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or atleast two years of experience in a licensed health care role andmust have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
