About the unit 6 North is a 32-bed surgical floor that offers agreat learning environment fostered by our team of exceptionalnurses. 6 North offers experiences that are normally not found inMed-Surg clinical rotation. The unit has a focus on surgicalconditions including urology procedures, major and minor abdominalsurgeries, ENT, bariatric and pulmonary surgeries, peripheralvascular procedures as well as other general surgical post-opneeds. The unit has 8 telemetry beds for patients requiring cardiacmonitoring. It is a fast-paced environment that you will never findboring. Scope of work The RN, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes theframework of the nursing process to provide professional nursingcare by incorporating patient-family centered care principles toassess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. The RN providesquality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leaderaccording to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizesthe impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships onpatient outcomes. The RN partners with and utilizes patient/familyinput and goals in planning plan of care and develops teachingstrategies for patient/family; documents education and learningappropriately in health record. Qualifications Associates inNursing Required Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 yearsGraduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have atleast one year of acute care experience or at least two years ofexperience in a licensed health care role and must havesuccessfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
