PRN Support multiplelocations within 150 miles of your permanent address ~ Mileagereimbursement ~ Additional $5 per hour float premium ~ 25 per hourweekend shift differential ~ 25 per hour evening/night shiftdifferential; Required to work at least one weekend rotation permonth ~3-month previous experience in Long Term Care required, 6months preferred ~ No contract required The Licensed PracticalNurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of allages in long term care, under the supervision of a registerednurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Demonstratesknowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevantclinical setting. Demonstrates competency and practices within thefull scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriateage and population specific standards related to the physical andpsychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan. Possess theability to perform testing to evaluate data reflective of theresident’s status and to provide the care needed. Ensures thehealth, comfort and safety of residents. Contributes to theassessment of residents and administers medications or treatmentsas ordered. Provides technical support to healthcare professionalsas needed. Documents resident interactions as needed and theoutcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity,and dietary. Skilled in establishing and maintaining effectiveworking relationships with resident, health care providers, and thepublic. Ability to work effectively with professional andsupportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
Counsels residents, family members and/or resident advocate, underthe direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider orphysician on prevention and treatment plans. Knowledge of residenteducation principles to develop a self-care program. Graduate froman accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed PracticalNurse. Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred. Ifposition requires IV therapy/management skills, the following isrequired in
North Dakota:
graduation from a Board approved AASPNprogram where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion ofan IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that includedsupervised clinical experience across the life span as part of thecurriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPNat another facility. Specific services/positions may haveadditional education, training or experience requirements.
Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-statelicensure privileges. Completes required annual continuingeducation units (CEU) and competency training requirements of thedepartment and facility.
