$72,072.00 – $74,229.26The Med Surg Float Pool Nurse floats to the medicine,post-surgical, and emergency departments. The Clinical Nurseassesses, coordinates, plans, directs, implements and manages theneeds of assigned patients throughout the episode of care with afocus on progress toward discharge, including during transitionswithin the acute care stay. The Clinical Nurse is responsible forthe delivery and coordination of patient care provided by thecaregiving team. S/he assures that competent, compassionate patientcare is uniformly provided to customers including referringfacilities, hospital staff and patients in the inpatient,ambulatory, and community settings.

Hourly Range:

$36.73 – $60.93Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs,performs treatments, procedures and special tests, and documenttreatment as required by company policy and local/state/federalrules and regulations. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostictests to identify and assess patients’ conditions. Assesses andevaluates patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.

Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care managementdecisions. Provides primary and emergency care for occupational andnon-occupational injuries and illnesses. Administersover-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.

Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for allpatients. Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintainstandards of professional nursing.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduateof a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma,Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred. Must holdcurrent NYS Registered Nurse license Obtains and maintainscertification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac LifeSupport (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Minimumof 1-3 years of clinical RN experience is required Minimum of 1year of Telemetry or ICU experience is required Ability to improvejob performance through continuing education. Possesses knowledgeof quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools andtechniques and demonstrates ability to apply in support ofdepartmental and patient care quality improvement.
