Our missionis “the care of the patient is our reason for existence.” What’syours? The Dialysis Registered Nurse provides specialized nursingcare in our in-center hemodialysis unit. The Dialysis RN works incollaboration with all clinic team members to ensure every patientreceives the safest care with the highest quality outcomes.

Responsibilities Performs hemodialysis treatments in accordancewith approved facility policies and procedures. Prior to initiationof dialysis, ensures dialysis machine, its alarms, and all productsused during treatment are prepped and meet DCI’s quality standards.

Monitors the patient during dialysis, assessing any emergentchanges in the patient’s condition and communicating any issues tothe physician as well as the patient’s family. Administers andcharts all prescribed pre, intra and post dialysis medications.

Follows CDC/CMS regulations with strict reinforcement of infectioncontrol. Participates in patient care conferences, medical roundsand chart reviews as assigned. Documents patient education toensure compliance with local ESRD Network, CMS, and DCIrequirements. Interacts with local hospitals as a liaison tofacilitate continuity of care. Assists in teaching and training newstaff members as directed by the Nurse Manager. Collaborates withall staff members and renal team members to maintain medicationinventory Ensures the dialysis machines are functioning properlyand maintains an adequate stocking of unit supplies.
