We offera friendly team-oriented work environment centered on efficient,compassionate patient care. We are looking for a candidate excitedto provide compassionate and capable patient and clinician supportfor outpatient procedures and other needed care. Under theSupervision of the Nursing Supervisor and/or Nurse Manager, the RNprovides nursing support to primary and subspecialty providers.

This is demonstrated using the nursing process to workcollaboratively with the health-care team in planning, directing,providing and evaluating patient care. The RN is defined within thedepartment to provide patient care, triage, consultation andreferral among team members. Monday – Friday Our Ob/Gyn outpatientpractice located in Albany, NY is seeking an RN to join our dynamicWomen’s Health team! Weare looking for a candidate excited to provide compassionate andcapable patient and clinician support for outpatient procedures andother needed care. Under the Supervision of the Nursing Supervisorand/or Nurse Manager, the RN provides nursing support to primaryand subspecialty providers. This is demonstrated using the nursingprocess to work collaboratively with the health-care team inplanning, directing, providing and evaluating patient care. The RNis defined within the department to provide patient care, triage,consultation and referral among team members.

Essential Duties andResponsibilities include:

• Completes organized and qualitydocumentation as required by the department.
• Facilitates theutilization of resources to meet patient outcomes (casemanagement).
• Provides age-appropriate direct patient care fromthe preparation of patients through the end of the office visit andall tasks in between including diagnostics, venipuncture,administration of medications, assisting with procedures, andassistance of physicians as needed.

Cases anticipated to beperformed include hysteroscopies, cystoscopies, excision of vulvarlesions, insertion and removal of IUDs, endometrial biopsies andfirst trimester terminations and miscarriage management.

• Performstelephone triage including coordination of care and documentation.
• Schedules tests and procedures as indicated within the divisionand obtains prior authorizations as needed.
• Works with otherdepartments inside and outside of AMC to coordinatemultidisciplinary care
• Participates in the patient throughputprocess in the clinic as indicated and needed (including vitalsigns, updating medical records, performing diagnostic procedures,assisting the physician and practitioners, facilitating teaching,end of appointment coordination of care)
• Works with divisionphysicians, administrative staff, and Nurse Manager to assurecompliance with regulatory conditions and policies and procedures
• Delegates daily tasks to appropriate clinical staff and ensurescompletion of tasks
• Reviews and triages incoming test results asindicated within the division

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate’sdegree of a state accredited Registered Nursing program is required
• NYS current RN licensure is required
• Previous nursingexperience in an ambulatory care setting or at least 1 year ofnursing experience obtained outside an ambulatory care setting
• Procedural sedation, operating room, Labor & Delivery, Ob/Gyn, orMaternity Services experience is preferred but not required – BLSRequired – ACLS required to be obtained after hire Thank you foryour interest in Albany Medical Center!
