$78,773.63 – $122,099.12 ThePerioperative Clinical Service Line Coordinator – Control Deskreports to the Nurse Manager and holds a key leadership positionwithin the division. In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, thisleader assumes the responsibility of coordinating and articulatingthe philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the MedicalCenter, the Nursing Service, and Perioperative Nursing intoeffective action. This nurse must have strong leadership andcommunication skills in order to maintain a safe and caringenvironment that supports excellence in clinical practice andcustomer service. This individual serves as a unit-based leader andacts as a liaison to clinical staff, physicians, support staff, andothers involved in promoting positive patient outcomes across thecontinuum. In depth knowledge of and ability to implement the AORNStandards and Recommended Practices for Peri-operative nursing.

Analytical skills to resolve problems that require the use of basicscientific, mathematical, or technical principles. Communicatescooperatively and effectively with patients, family members,employees and others through verbal and communication. Engages ininteractive dialogues with the multidisciplinary team. Seeks outthe input of others to achieve consensus. Reads and interpretsdocuments such as Patient Care Standards and Quality Reports.

Problem-solves, performs computations, and interprets data.

Interfaces with other Perioperative leadership staff to coordinatedaily needs of the unit. Researches, distributes, and communicatesinformation on new equipment, supplies and procedures. Providesinput for staff meetings in collaboration with Nurse Manager. Meetswith staff to problem solve supply management and equipment issues.

Liaisons with all departments and disciplines that interface withthe Perioperative area to facilitate positive patient outcomes.

Ability to exchange information on factual matters, scheduleappointments, greet visitors, explain medical center polices,and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type ofinteraction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients,visitors and/or medical center employees. More sensitive situationmay be referred to others as appropriate Ability to be honest, tobe punctual, and to perform the job in adherence to the higheststandards of ethical conduct as defined by the AMC Code of Conduct.

Ability to be accurate in such matters as record-keeping, and touse good judgment when performing the functions of the job or wheninteracting with others. Ability to accept direction, carry outorders, to work cooperatively with others and to avoid the creationof unnecessary conflict. Ability to adhere to AMC’s policies,procedures and practices, and to utilize AMC’s problem-solvingprocesses for resolving grievances or disagreements. Ability toindependently organize and prioritize work to complete assignmentsin a timely manner and meet established guidelines. Ability tomultitask and gather data from appropriate resources. Acceptsresponsibility for self-development to remain cognizant of currenttrends and new methods within the nursing profession and healthcare environment Computer skills such as those found in theMicrosoft Suite as well as EPIC. Bachelor of Science in Nursing(BSN) preferred (current and continuous enrollment in a BSN programwith completion from an accredited school of nursing within 2 yearsis also acceptable). Current New York State licensure as RegisteredNurse required. CNOR is preferred (current pursuit of CNOR withcompletion within 2 years is also acceptable) Valid CPR required.

Three years previous Operating Room experience. Demonstratesclinical competency as an OR nurse in both the scrub andcirculating roles. Demonstrated leadership experience charge orresource role.
