Job Summary:

TheMed-Surg RN provides patient-centered nursing care in a fast-pacedenvironment, addressing acute and chronic medical conditions. Thisrole requires effective communication with patients, families, andinterdisciplinary teams to promote optimal health outcomes.

KeyResponsibilities:

• Patient Care:

• Assess, plan, implement, andevaluate nursing care for patients with a variety of medicalconditions and post-operative needs.
• Monitor patient status,including vital signs, lab results, and response to treatments.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physicianorders and established protocols.

• Clinical Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, includingassessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Communicate effectivelywith the healthcare team regarding patient progress and any changesin condition.

• Collaboration and Communication:

• Coordinate carewith physicians, physical therapists, dietitians, and otherhealthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families aboutdiagnoses, treatments, medications, and post-discharge care.

• Technical Skills:

• Operate and maintain medical equipment such asIV pumps, wound vacuums, and telemetry monitors.
• Performprocedures such as catheterizations, wound care, and IV insertions

• Patient Advocacy:

• Promote patient safety and ensure compliancewith hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Address patientconcerns and ensure comfort and dignity throughout the careprocess.

• Emergency Response:

• Recognize and respond todeteriorating patient conditions, including initiating life-savinginterventions when necessary.
• Actively participate in code teamsand rapid response scenarios.

Qualifications:

• Licensure:

  ActiveRegistered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.

•

Education:

Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science inNursing (BSN) required.

• Certifications:

• Basic Life Support(BLS) certification.
