Job Description Purpose of Position:
Under general supervision, directs the development, implementation and evaluation of the nursing regimen for patients/clients in two or more units of a clinical service involving the diagnosis and treatment of responses to actual or potential health problems by means of nursing methods and techniques such as case-finding, health teaching, health counseling and the provision of care supportive to and restorative of life and well-being. Schedules, assigns, guides, directs and instructs professional and allied nursing personnel in nursing activities.
Examples of Typical Tasks:
1. Performs major duties and functions as described in the Staff Nurse position description. 2. Coordinates, guides and directs the development, implementation and continuous evaluation of the nursing regimen for patients/clients within the clinical service. 3. Participates in the determination of conditions, resources and policies essential to delivery of nursing care within the clinical service. 4. Guides, coordinates and directs the development and maintenance of a system of evaluation of nursing care, practices and procedures, including evaluation of nursing personnel within the clinical service. 5. Defines, implements and maintains standards of nursing practice and evaluates the quality of nursing care rendered within the clinical service. 6. Reviews and analyzes trends pertinent to delivery of nursing care services within the clinical service and initiates appropriate innovations or makes recommendations for needed changes in support of patient experience and continuity of care. Minimum Qualifications 1. A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; and
2. Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); and
3. Three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse. Benefits In addition to base compensation, you may also receive the following based on the

An annual education differential if you currently possess an appropriate degree in nursing or an allied health discipline from an accredited college or university, as listed below: Bachelors in allied health discipline = $900
Masters in allied health discipline = $1,200
Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) = $1,800
Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) = $2,000
Doctorate in Education, Nursing Practice or PhD in Nursing (DNP) = $2,500 An annual certification differential ranging from $1,878 up to $4,878 if you currently hold appropriate certifications that are nationally recognized in the discipline or area of specialization for which you are employed. An annual nursing experience differential ranging from $1,097 up to $9,100 for up to 10 years of experience if you have outside nursing experience as a Supervisor of Nurses.
