An opportunity to gain and practice critical careskills in the following areas: Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU, MedicalICU, Coronary Care Unit, Cardiovascular ICU , and our intermediatecare ICU- the MSICU.
Hourly Range:
$33.00 – $33.99 RNs in theCritical Care Float pool also have the opportunity to gainadditional competencies in Emergency Department care andneuro-progressive care areas. Job Description:
- Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs,performs treatments, procedures and special tests, and documenttreatment as required by company policy and local/state/federalrules and regulations.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluatesdiagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ conditions.
- Assesses and evaluates patient needs for, and responses to, carerendered.
- Applies sound nursing judgment in patient caremanagement decisions.
- Provides primary and emergency care foroccupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administers over-the-counter and prescription medications asordered.
- Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan ofCare for all patients.
- Directs and guides ancillary personnel andmaintain standards of professional nursing.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which aDiploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred
- Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license
- Obtains andmaintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and AdvancedCardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Minimum of 1-3 years of previousclinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care
- Excellentcommunication, prioritization, organizational and time-managementskills
- Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, andproblem-solving tools and techniques and demonstrates ability toapply in support of departmental and patient care qualityimprovement.
