Salary Range:

$68,640.00 – $70,699.20 There aretwo Vascular Surgery Units. One unit consists of 16 beds with 6private rooms and 5 semi-private rooms. The other Vascular Surgeryunit has 20 beds with 2 private rooms and 9 semi-private rooms. Thepatient population served in these units includes acute andchronically ill surgical patients. The primary disease focusincludes patients with vascular disease and surgical patientsrequiring telemetry monitoring. The age of the patients rangesbetween 18 and 90 with the majority of the patients between 45-65years. Plans of care in use include but are not limited to: CarotidEndarterectomy, Lower Extremity Revascularization, Renal Stenting,Vascular Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Patients. Job DescriptionImplements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs,performs treatments, procedures and special tests, and documenttreatment as required by company policy and local/state/federalrules and regulations. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostictests to identify and assess patients’ conditions. Assesses andevaluates patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.

Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care managementdecisions. Provides primary and emergency care for occupational andnon-occupational injuries and illnesses. Administersover-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.

Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for allpatients. Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintainstandards of professional nursing. Minimum Qualifications Graduateof a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma,Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred Must holdcurrent NYS Registered Nurse license Obtains and maintainscertification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac LifeSupport (ACLS) Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RNexperience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care Excellent communication,prioritization, organizational and time-management skills Possessesknowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solvingtools and techniques and demonstrates ability to apply in supportof departmental and patient care quality improvement.
