$68,640.00 – $70,699.20The CCU is a 17-bed cardiac critical care unit with each roomhaving invasive monitoring capabilities. The patient populationconsists of adult patients (age 18 and older) experiencing actualor potential life-threatening cardiac dysfunction. One of theservices provided by credentialed RPN’s in this unit is continuousEKG monitoring for potentially life-threatening dysrhythmias andthe implementation of emergency measures in the absence of aphysician according to the American Heart Association’s AdvancedCardiac Life Support (AHA-ACLS) Guidelines. Other services providedinclude monitoring and care of patients with Impella ventricularassist devices, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, Pulmonary ArteryCatheters, TVPs, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy. CCU ICUnurses require or will develop the following skill sets: Implementphysician orders, administer medications, starts IVs, performstreatments, procedures and special tests, and document treatment asrequired by company policy and local/state/federal rules andregulations. CCU nurses will also order, interpret, and evaluatediagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ conditions,assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, carerendered. They will apply sound nursing judgment in patient caremanagement decisions, collaborate with the nursing team to create aPlan of Care for all patients, and direct and guide ancillarypersonnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs,performs treatments, procedures and special tests, and documenttreatment as required by company policy and local/state/federalrules and regulations. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostictests to identify and assess patients’ conditions. Assesses andevaluates patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care managementdecisions. Provides primary and emergency care for occupational andnon-occupational injuries and illnesses. Administersover-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for allpatients. Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintainstandards of professional nursing.
