Department of Ob/Gyn Location:
391 Myrtle Avenue, Albany Our OB/GYNpractice located in Albany, NY is seeking an RN to join our dynamicWomen’s Health team in our high risk Maternal Fetal division! Weoffer a friendly team-oriented work environment centered onefficient, compassionate patient care. The Urogynecology RN is anurse who delivers proficient care for women with pelvic floordisorders including pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence,fistulae, etc. The RN demonstrates the advanced knowledge andskills to triage phone calls, assist Providers in the clinic andindependently perform procedures such as urodynamic testing andcatheterization. The RN supports patients and Providers with stronginterpersonal skills, flexibility, and a commitment tocompassionate care. Prior experience in urology is preferred butnot required.
Salary range:
$68,640 – $99,023 Under the Supervisionof the Nursing Supervisor and/or Nurse Manager, the RN providesnursing support to primary and subspecialty providers. This isdemonstrated using the nursing process to work collaboratively withthe health-care team in planning, directing, providing andevaluating patient care. The RN is defined within the department toprovide patient care, triage, consultation and referral among teammembers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
Completesorganized and quality documentation as required by the department.
Facilitates the utilization of resources to meet patient outcomes(case management). Analyzes patient care needs and utilizes asystematic approach to delivery of care. Provides age appropriatedirect patient care from the preparation of patients through theend of the office visit and all tasks in between includingdiagnostics, venipuncture, administration of medications, andassistance of physicians as needed. Performs telephone triageincluding coordination of care and documentation. Schedules testsand procedures as indicated within the division and obtains priorauthorizations as needed. Works with physicians and other resourcesto develop teaching tools for families and patients. Performscommunity outreach as indicated. Work on studies with PrincipalInvestigator as indicated within the department. Provides patientand family education taking into consideration cultural, religious,language, and motivational, physical, emotional and cognitivefactors into account in the teaching plan Works with otherdepartments inside and outside of AMC to coordinatemultidisciplinary care Ensures that medical equipment functioningproperly and knows process to manage failure as need arisesParticipates in the patient throughput process in the clinic asindicated and needed (including vital signs, updating medicalrecords, performing diagnostic procedures, assisting the physicianand practitioners, facilitating teaching, end of appointmentcoordination of care) Orientation of new staff Works with divisionphysicians, administrative staff and Nurse Manager to assurecompliance with regulatory conditions and policies and proceduresActively participate in the survey process in regards toaccreditation Utilizes scheduling system lookup to ensureappropriate follow up has been scheduled Locates regulations andpolicies and procedures on line and know how to apply Utilizeseducational resources on Intranet for self education and educationof other staff and families Writes letters of medical necessity asindicated Delegates daily tasks to appropriate clinical staff andensures completion of tasks Collaborates with administrative staffand physicians on the Quality Improvement Team to address clinicaland non-clinical issues within the division Maintains compliancywith regulatory agencies Reviews and triages incoming test resultsas indicated within the division Documents properly, giving ageappropriate care, gathering data correctly (including vital signs),and facilitating care in a customer friendly manner Maintainscompliance with AMC standards for electronic system use Maintainscompliance with AMC Code of Conduct Maintains a safe environmentwithin the clinic and working office space Realizes their role inEnvironment of Care Surveys.
Minimum Requirements:
Associate’sdegree of a state accredited Registered Nursing program is requiredNYS current RN licensure to practice professional nursing isrequired Current CPR certification required Certification inspecialty, Ambulatory setting preferred OB experience preferred butnot required Skills required for the

Familiar with computer software.
