Soloh Partners is seeking a travel nurse RN Long Term Care (LTC)Educator for a travel nursing job in Brooklyn, New York. Educator ~

- performs the functions of an educator,facilitator, change agent, leader, consultant and researcher inarea of expertise.
Participate in the development, implementationand evaluation of orientation programs. Develops and implementsstaff development and continuing education programs. The NurseEducator of Long-Term care will collaborate at all levels ofnursing to provide professional development, act as a mentor, andprovide clinical coaching. The Nurse Educator of Long-Term Carewill develop programs that are in compliance with facility Policiesand Procedures and that enhance clinical excellence within theunit. The Nurse Educator of Long-Term Care will provide orientationfor new staff and support the unit staff with competencydevelopment, and evaluations. Collaborates and assists the nursingadministrative and leadership staff in defining, implementing andmaintaining the standards of nursing practice.
- Collaborates withthe nursing administrative and leadership staff in identifying anddocumenting the learning need s of the nursing staff concerningnursing practice.
- Maintains knowledge/clinical expertise bycontinual review of current literature/research and products thatimpact nursing practice and patient care outcomes.
- Providesclinical supervision, coaching or mentoring to nursing staff basedon individualized learning needs assessment.
- Eng ages learners,nurse managers, and other identified key players in data collectionand evaluation of learner needs and outcomes.
- Plans/designs,implements staff development classes/programs and appropriatelearning activities for the staff.
- Facilitates programimplementation plans according to set goals and time frame
- Establishes method to evaluate learning and competency plan forclinical nursing staff.
- Analyzes and communicates the impact ofcontent, teaching methods, and evaluation strategies with othereducators and leadership counterparts.
- Demonstrates knowledge oftheories used in staff development and education.
- Demonstratescompetency and serves as a clinical and educational resource in theuse of the electronic/paper record keeping, including but notlimited to documentation, chart audit and training of staff
- Designs, develops, and organizes training manuals, references,multi-media instructional aids, and other educational materialsaimed to support the learning needs of the staff.
- Conductsclasses/training programs as necessary.
- Evaluates staff forclinical competency and conducts an education plan for clinicalissues detected .
- Serves as a clinical and educational resource,role model and facilitator for staff/other departments.
- Acts in aleadership role to create change and improve quality of nursingcare through a variety of ways including but not exclusivelyeducation focused .
- Plans/designs, implements staff developmentclasses/programs and appropriate learning activities for thenursing staff.
- Maintains records according to policies andprocedures standards of accrediting organizations.
- Teachesclasses/courses using the theories of adult education.
- respect,appreciates and supports the diversity of ideas, and demonstratesteam effectiveness skills by acting for the good of the team
- Encourages staff participation in problem solving anddecision-making. Develops effective working relationships withancillary and support services that result in improved patient careand/or departmental functioning. Minimum five (5) years of clinicalexperience as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum three (3) years ofrelevant nurse educator experience.
- Atleast one (1) year of LongTerm Care experience.
- Demonstrates clinical expertise as anadvanced level practitioner in the appropriate healthcare field andin adult education.
- Demonstrated skills in nursing expertise, teamleadership, leading educational initiatives and project management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and usingAudio/Visual equipment
- Position will be required to stoop, bend,lift, and carry items weighing up to 35 pounds for routineperformance of essential functions. Pay package is based on 8 hourshifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) withtax-free stipend amount to be determined. SSI
