Job Description:

The MICU Registered Nurse provides specialized care for critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. The RN will manage patients with conditions such as sepsis, ARDS, heart failure, renal failure, and multi-organ failure, among others. They will work with advanced life support systems like ECMO, CRRT, and Impella to provide comprehensive care. The nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct and indirect nursing care to critically ill patients in the MICU Monitor patients with complex conditions such as sepsis, ARDS, respiratory failure, and multi-organ failure Assist with advanced therapies, including ECMO, CRRT, IABP, and Impella Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and clinical standards of care Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, with occasional 1:1 based on acuity

Requirements:

Active New York RN License

• Required At least 1 year of experience in an ICU or MICU setting Experience with advanced life support therapies (ECMO, CRRT, Impella, etc.) Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Strong clinical reasoning, assessment, and critical thinking skills Every other weekend required Certifications (Required): BLS
• Basic Life Support (AHA or Red Cross) ACLS
