$76,396.32 -$126,730.61 The Clinical Nurse assesses, coordinates, plans,directs, implements and manages the needs of assigned patientsthroughout the episode of care with a focus on progress towarddischarge, including during transitions within the acute care stay.

The Clinical Nurse Nurse is responsible for the delivery andcoordination of patient care provided by the caregiving team. S/heassures that competent, compassionate patient care is uniformlyprovided to customers including referring facilities, hospitalstaff and patients in the inpatient, ambulatory, and communitysettings. The Medical Cardiology unit is a 29-bed unit consistingof 1 private room, 13 semi-private rooms and one 4 bedroom.

Patients are received from the Emergency Department, CardiacCatheterization Lab, CCU, MICU, physician offices, and otherfacilities when inpatient admission is necessary. The patientpopulation served includes male and female, acute and chronicallyill patients with a variety of cardiac and medical diagnoses. Mostpatients admitted to the unit require telemetry monitoring afterreceiving minimally-invasive and invasive cardiac procedures. Theage range is from young adult (18 years) to geriatric (100) years.

Hourly Range:

$36.73 – $60.93 Essential Duties & Responsibilitiesinclude but not limited to:

• Implements physician orders,administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments,procedures and special tests, and document treatment as required bycompany policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify andassess patients’ conditions.
• Assesses and evaluates patient needsfor, and responses to, care rendered.
• Applies sound nursingjudgment in patient care management decisions.
• Provides primaryand emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuriesand illnesses.
• Administers over-the-counter and prescriptionmedications as ordered.
• Collaborates with the nursing team tocreate a Plan of Care for all patients.
• Directs and guidesancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of a professional academicnursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree orBaccalaureate Degree is conferred.
• Must hold current NYSRegistered Nurse license.
• Obtains and maintains certification inBasic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Previous experience as a PCA or other nursing assistancepreferred.
• Ability to improve job performance through continuingeducation.
• Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles,and problem-solving tools and techniques and demonstrates abilityto apply in support of departmental and patient care qualityimprovement.
