Salary Range:

$78,773.63 – $122,099.12 Salaryrange will be prorated based on hours worked. The EducationSpecialist is expected to utilize their knowledge and skills toaccomplish the goals of the organization. The Education Specialistachieves this goal through the roles of educator, performanceconsultant, and leader in collaboration with members of theHospital, the Center, and the community.

Hours:

Monday-Friday,08:00-4:30pm with occasional off-shift and weekend rotation tosupport educational needs of AMC.

  • Supports preceptors indeveloping orientation programs for new Staff.
  • Responsible forstaff orientation and continued development.
  • Demonstrateprinciples of conflict resolution and promote consensus building.
  • Represents Case Management/Social Work at organizational committeemeetings as directed
  • Serves as AMC Liaison with executiveleadership interfacing with continuum of care providers and publicagencies including: SNF Administrators, vendors, CHHAs,LDSS-APS/CPS, NYS-OMH, OPWDD, MHLS among other regulatory agencies
  • Interprets laws, policies, operational procedures and objectives.

Ensures compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.

  • Assists in the development of policies and procedures, standards ofcare and practice, and in the monitoring processes in relations tothose standard
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge and expertise in
CMS, DOH, OMH, OPWDD

laws and regulations pertaining to access,delivery, transition and financing across the continuum of care.

  • Expertise in entitlement eligibility, managed care, guardianship,immigration and naturalization laws.
  • Ensures efficient andeffective service provision within regulatory and professionalstandards.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree (MS-Nursingstrongly preferred).
  • Board Certification in relevant specialty-strongly preferred.
  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work with Statelicensure or Master’s degree in Nursing or a Master’s degree inEducation with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing, or a Master’sdegree in an allied health field from an accredited institutionrequired.
  • 3 – 5 years of direct critical care experience preferred
  • Experience in the field of Clinical Social Work or Nursing withexperience in Case Management, Utilization Review and DischargePlanning.
  • BLS Certification.
  • Demonstrated clinical competencyin a nursing or allied health specialty. Previous experience ineducation program development and teaching preferred.
  • Ability tocreate collegial and collaborative relationships internally andexternally.
  • Ability to read and analyze documents.
  • Ability tolisten well, to engage in interactive dialogues with others, andfacilitate communication among groups.
  • Effective organizational,oral and written communication skills, problem solving, programdevelopment, computer skills, strong leadership and team buildingskills.

The Education Specialist provides leadership and directionto support high performing staff through the development ofeducational activities that meet the needs of the nursingorganization. Principal Position Responsibilities The EducationSpecialist is responsible for leading in the design and developmentof systems that support staff involvement in practice, research,education, and quality decisions; promoting a collaborativeenvironment where nurses practice at the highest level oflicensure. This position is responsible for participating in thedesign, development and implementation of orientation andcontinuing education programs for individuals and groups within thenursing organization. The educational outcomes of programming areevaluated and linked to the quality process and patient careoutcomes. Ideal Candidate will have Pediatric nursing experience.
