Full-Time Telephonic Nurse Case Manager Viscardi Manhasset, NY 11030 • Remote Viscardi, a modern medical case management and consulting firm, is looking for a full-time Nurse Case Manager with a New York State Nursing License. When employees get injured on the job, our Nurse Case Managers swing into action to get them the very best, most personalized care and back to work faster than the national average. In addition to performing initial and ongoing clinical assessments of the injured workers, our Nurse Case Managers understand the specific priorities of injured workers, employers, carriers, providers and attorneys and are experts at guiding the group to outcomes where everyone wins. We’re looking for a Nurse Case Manager who is passionate about innovating outdated medical claims processes and bringing human-to-human care back to the worker’s compensation industry. This position is full-time on a hybrid schedule Monday – Friday, with only Mondays required to be in-office, the remainder of the week is remote. Candidates must be comfortable with computers and tracking/reporting progress via online systems and able to process information and execute quickly.

Your Responsibilities:

Telephonically assess, plan, implement and coordinate all case management activities associated with an injured employee Coordinate and assure proper delivery and oversight of medical and disability services Perform pre-certification process for prescribed treatment by gathering relevant data through clinical interviews with the injured worker, provider(s), and employer Assess and identify barriers to recovery Plan a proactive course of action to enhance the injured employee’s short and long-term outcomes Determine goals, objectives, and potential alternatives to care for the injured worker Evaluate patient’s treatment plan and coordinate proper delivery of medical and rehabilitative services using cost containment strategies Provide medical and disability education Assist employers with the development of transitional, sedentary, or modified job duties based on the injured worker’s functional capacity Monitor, evaluate, and document case management activities and outcomes including, but not limited to: case management approaches, over/under utilization, inappropriate care, effective treatment, permanent or temporary loss of function, failed or premature return to work, non-compliance Qualifications and Competencies BSN Degree or other Bachelor’s degree required Additional state nursing licenses or compact nursing license a plus Additional certifications are preferred: Certified Case Manager (CCM), Certified Disability Manager (CDMS), Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S), Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), or Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) Computer proficiency Experience with Microsoft Office, Gmail, Google Docs Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
