Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Wound Care RN to join our dedicated team at our facility in Long Beach, New York. This is a full-time position where the successful candidate will provide specialized care to residents with wounds, ensuring they receive the highest level of treatment and attention.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess all residents/patients admitted with wounds or those who develop wounds in-house. Collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate wound care treatments. Direct weekly wound rounds with the wound care team, measuring wounds and discussing treatment plans. Update weekly tracking forms for each wound and communicate with physicians regarding wounds that are not responding to treatment. Maintain weekly decubitus statistics and distribute them to the wound care team each Monday. Provide in-service education to staff on wound care techniques. Perform quarterly Quality Assurance reports to ensure wound care plans are compliant with regulations. Observe dressing changes to ensure treatment nurses are performing competently. Provide wound care education to residents and family members as needed. Attend in-services on Wound Care to stay informed of current standards and best practices.

Requirements:

Current NYS Registered Nurse license. Wound Care Certification. Infection Control Certification. Minimum 1 year of nursing home experience preferred.
