Job Description/Responsibilities:

• Provide daily operational and clinical leadership for the Med/Surg unit.
• Participate in direct patient care as needed to support workflow, patient safety, and quality.
• Offer at-the-elbow support for staff, serving as a visible and engaged leader on the unit.
• Work a variable shift, based on departmental needs, and participate in the on-call rotation.
• Implement strategies that promote clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, and staff engagement.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission).
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
• Lead or support quality improvement initiatives and shared governance efforts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
• Active RN license in good standing, or ability to obtain licensure in Colorado.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing leadership experience, preferably in a Med/Surg or acute care environment.
• BLS
• ACLS
• Strong communication and teamwork skills Compassionate and patient-centred approach
