Core Job ResponsibilitiesIdentify patient care requirements establishing personal rapportwith patients and families and understanding of plan of carethroughout the patient’s experience. Establish a compassionateenvironment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritualsupport to patients, friends and families. Promote patientindependence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient,friends and family to understand disease process, medications, andself-care skills, and provide time to answer questions. Assurequality care by adhering to therapeutic standards measuring healthoutcomes against patient care goals and standards; making orrecommending adjustments to the patient’s needs. The nurse isresponsible and accountable for individual nursing practice anddetermines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with thenurse’s obligation to provide optimum patient care Ensure operationof equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirementsfollowing manufactures instructions troubleshooting malfunctions,calling for repairs; maintaining equipment, inventories, andevaluating equipment and techniques. Protect patients, employees byadhering to infection control policies and protocols, medicationadministration and controlled substance regulations. Utilizeuniversal precautions and practice at all times. Maintain a safeand clean working environment by complying with procedures rules,and regulations; calling for assistance from health care personnel.
Education/Experience Requirements Required:
Graduate of anaccredited associate degree
Preferred:
Bachelor of Science inNursing from an accredited nursing program or higher degree One ormore years of experience in a related setting
Licensure/Certification Requirements Required:
Current New YorkState licensure as a
Registered Nurse Preferred:
