This position is ideal for nurses with a strong background in high-acuity pediatric care, particularly in trauma-designated hospitals. You’ll be part of a collaborative and fast-paced care team supporting some of the region’s most critically ill pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in a Level 1 trauma PICU Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and coordinate care plans Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team Utilize EPIC Electronic Medical Record (preferred) to document assessments, interventions, and outcomes Educate families and provide emotional support throughout the care journey Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and evidence-based practices Work independently with minimal supervision after brief orientation
Qualifications:
Current NY State RN license BLS certification required Minimum 3 years of recent PICU experience (within past 2 years) in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center Experience with
EPIC EMR
(preferred) Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills No prior suspensions or investigations of professional licensure Must not have been a named defendant in a professional liability claim Must pass pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and criminal background check Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
