Job Description:

We are seeking experienced and dedicated Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurses to join a dynamic healthcare team. This opportunity offers a challenging yet rewarding experience for nurses who excel in managing diverse patient populations in a high-acuity setting.

Unit Overview:

The Med/Surg Telemetry units provide comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and telemetry needs. Nurses on these units are expected to have strong med/surg fundamentals, telemetry proficiency, and adaptability to changing clinical situations.

Unit Details:

Med 2: 24-bed unit Focus on both med/surg and stroke care Stroke monitoring and support included Med 3: 34-bed unit General med/surg with telemetry monitoring

Patient-to-Nurse Ratio:

Typically 6:1

Patient Population Includes:

Gastrointestinal conditions Cardiac conditions (non-intensive drips only) Renal issues Patients with confusion or altered mental status

Common Drips Administered:

Heparin Lasix Occasional Morphine (for palliative/comfort care)

Note:

Patients requiring advanced cardiac drips are transferred to higher-acuity units (ICU/SCU).

Shifts and Hours:

36 or 48 hours per week Flexible scheduling based on traveler preference and unit needs

Certifications Required:

BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
