Infection Control Nurse Position Available In Rockland, New York

Infection Control Nurse Nyack Ridge Rehabilitation & Nursing Center 476 Christian Herald Road, Valley Cottage, NY 10989 We are situated in a peaceful rural location in the heart of Rockland County. The Nyack Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is the premier subacute rehab and long-term care provider. We are well-respected in the community for our longstanding reputation and for delivering over forty years of quality patient care. This part-time position is approximately 12-16 hours per week, which may include one week. The RN/LPN Infection Control Preventionist (IC Nurse) will collaborate with the lead ICP to implement effective infection control programs, educate staff and residents, and develop policies. They will manage outbreaks and promote collaboration. The nurse must also be highly organized in providing vaccines to residents, tracking and trending immunizations, and preparing related infection reports. Additionally, the nurse must be flexible and able to work independently when needed during an illness outbreak or during DOH surveys.

Other Duties:

Update infection control measures, address questions or concerns, and guide families on how to support infection prevention efforts. In the event of an outbreak, the Nurse ensures that families are informed promptly and kept updated on the situation. Evaluate infection control programs’ effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Implement quality improvement initiatives, such as revising protocols, enhancing staff training, and incorporating new technologies or practices. These efforts contribute to improving infection control measures within the nursing home.

Requirements:

A minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Infection Control Nurse RN or LPN License for NYS The Nurse must have LTC experience or immunization practices, preferred. Knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations in Long Term Care Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills Job type: Part-time
