OLAS Job Description:
The South Orangetown Central School District is seeking a qualified School Health Aide to support student health services in a school setting. This is a 10-month position aligned with the school year calendar.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting in basic health-related tasks and record-keeping Supporting school nurses with daily operations Providing care and communication related to student health needs Assisting with office work and interacting with students and families
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent AND one (1) of the following: One year of experience assisting in office work and patient-contact services in a health facility, clinic, or similar setting Possession of a license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) Possession of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certificate
Special Requirement:
Must complete an approved basic first aid course before the end of the probationary period (arranged by employer).
Additional Requirements:
Must be a Rockland County resident Must sit for the School Health Aide Civil Service test and be reachable on the list, OR currently hold a qualifying position/title within the district
Compensation:
In accordance with the SOEAA contract.
