$0.00 -$0.00 The Clinical Nurse assesses, coordinates, plans, directs,implements and manages the needs of assigned patients throughoutthe episode of care with a focus on progress toward discharge,including during transitions within the acute care stay. TheClinical Nurse is responsible for the delivery and coordination ofpatient care provided by the caregiving team. S/he assures thatcompetent, compassionate patient care is uniformly provided tocustomers including referring facilities, hospital staff andpatients in the inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.
PerDiem:
$43.50 Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but notlimited to: Implements physician orders, administers medications,starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures and special tests, anddocument treatment as required by company policy andlocal/state/federal rules and regulations. Orders, interprets, andevaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’conditions. Assesses and evaluates patient needs for, and responsesto, care rendered. Applies sound nursing judgment in patient caremanagement decisions. Provides primary and emergency care foroccupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
Administers over-the-counter and prescription medications asordered. Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan ofCare for all patients. Directs and guides ancillary personnel andmaintain standards of professional nursing.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which aDiploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred Musthold current NYS Registered Nurse license Obtains and maintainscertification in
BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC
Minimum of 1-3 years ofprevious clinical nursing experience in an Emergency Department,preferably in a large academic, Level 1 Trauma Center andComprehensive Stroke Center Ability to improve job performancethrough continuing education Possesses knowledge of qualityconcepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques anddemonstrates ability to apply in support of departmental andpatient care quality improvement Albany Med offers a competitivesalary and benefits package that includes: Excellent benefitsincluding health/dental/vision Employer-funded pension plan PaidLeave The Emergency Department (ED) is a Level I Trauma Center andserves as a regional referral center for a wide variety of patientsrequiring acute care. Patients of all ages are seen 24 hours/day, 7days/week. There is a total of 45 rooms in the ED, which includes 5barco-lounger spaces for lower acuity patients. The EmergencyDepartment is divided into five major zones: Major trauma andcritical care, Resuscitation and minor care, Pediatrics, Acutecare, and Rapid Care. There are two distinct waiting areas, one forpediatric patients and their families, and the other for all othervisitors. There are 7 negative flow rooms, one of which is also anisolation room. Clinical and clerical workstations, nutritionareas, and supply and pharmaceutical dispensing machines arecentrally located in each zone. A dedicated radiology suite,including 2 CTs, a

suite with a separate entrance,as well as a satellite lab are also located within the EmergencyDepartment. In 2017, it is anticipated that Albany Medical Centerwill open a Level II Pediatric Emergency Department with 15exam/treatment areas, 2 trauma resuscitation rooms, and a pediatricobservation unit. Each ambulatory patient is initially evaluated atthe triage. Patients arriving via EMS are directed to theappropriate patient care room by the flow facilitator during peakhours. Acute psychiatric services are referred to the PsychiatricCrisis Unit at the Capital District Psychiatric Center. Acute burnpatients may be transferred to a regional burn center afterstabilization.
