Required Qualifications:

One year ofrecent experience as an RN, including a minimum of six months in aHospice Setting as an RN Valid RN license in compliance with stateregulations BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Summary:

A Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate,end-of-life care to patients in their homes or hospice settings,focusing on comfort, pain management, and emotional support.

Hospice RNs assess patient needs, coordinate care plans, andeducate families to ensure patients experience dignity and peace intheir final stages. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teamsto provide holistic care while upholding hospice philosophy andregulatory standards.

Essential Work Functions:

Assess patientneeds and develop individualized hospice care plans incollaboration with physicians and care teams Administer painmanagement interventions, medications, and treatments to ensurepatient comfort Educate and support families and caregivers,helping them understand symptom management and end-of-life careMonitor changes in patient condition, adjusting interventions tomaintain quality of life Coordinate care with hospice physicians,social workers, chaplains, and other team members to provideholistic support Document all care provided, symptom changes, andfamily interactions accurately and in compliance with hospiceregulations Ensure adherence to hospice best practices, safetyprotocols, and regulatory requirements Offer emotional andpsychological support to both patients and their loved ones duringthe end-of-life journey Communicate regularly with the hospice careteam to ensure continuous, compassionate care Strong ability tocomplete charting and documentation requirements while meetingvisit and productivity goals Adhere to infection control, safety,and healthcare regulations Perform other duties as assigned withinthe scope of practice

Required Essential Skills:

Critical thinking,service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills Theability to read, write, & communicate in the English language isrequired Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, followverbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills PhysicalAbilities

• Remain in a stationary position, move about, moveequipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending InterpersonalSkills
• To work effectively with a variety of personnel(professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude andprofessionalism Technical/Motor Skills
• Ability to grasp, finemanipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move about when assistingwith procedures and/or using department equipment. MentalRequirements
• Must be able to cope with frequent contact with thegeneral public, customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure.
