$72,072.00 – $74,229.26The Med Surg Float Pool Nurse floats to medicine, post-surgical,and emergency departments The Clinical Nurse assesses, coordinates,plans, directs, implements and manages the needs of assignedpatients throughout the episode of care with a focus on progresstoward discharge, including during transitions within the acutecare stay. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for the delivery andcoordination of patient care provided by the caregiving team. S/heassures that competent, compassionate patient care is uniformlyprovided to customers including referring facilities, hospitalstaff and patients in the inpatient, ambulatory, and communitysettings.

Hourly Range:

$36.73 – $60.93 Essential Duties ℜsponsibilities include but not limited to: Implements physicianorders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments,procedures and special tests, and document treatment as required bycompany policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.

Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify andassess patients’ conditions. Assesses and evaluates patient needsfor, and responses to, care rendered. Applies sound nursingjudgment in patient care management decisions. Provides primary andemergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries andillnesses. Administers over-the-counter and prescriptionmedications as ordered. Collaborates with the nursing team tocreate a Plan of Care for all patients. Directs and guidesancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of a professional academic nursingprogram in which a Diploma, Associate Degree or BaccalaureateDegree is conferred. Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse licenseObtains and maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS),Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced LifeSupport (PALS) Minimum of 1-3 years of clinical RN experience isrequired Minimum of 1 year of Telemetry or ICU experience isrequired Ability to improve job performance through continuingeducation. Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, andproblem-solving tools and techniques and demonstrates ability toapply in support of departmental and patient care qualityimprovement.
