$72,072.00 -$74,229.26 The Clinical Nurse assesses, coordinates, plans,directs, implements and manages the needs of assigned patientsthroughout the episode of care with a focus on progress towarddischarge, including during transitions within the acute care stay.

The Clinical Nurse is responsible for the delivery and coordinationof patient care provided by the caregiving team. S/he assures thatcompetent, compassionate patient care is uniformly provided tocustomers including referring facilities, hospital staff andpatients in the inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.

Hourly Range:

$34.65 – $35.69 The Medical Cardiology unit is a29-bed unit consisting of 1 private room, 13 semi-private rooms andone 4 bedroom. Patients are received from the Emergency Department,Cardiac Catheterization Lab, CCU, MICU, physician offices, andother facilities when inpatient admission is necessary. The patientpopulation served includes male and female, acute and chronicallyill patients with a variety of cardiac and medical diagnoses. Mostpatients admitted to the unit require telemetry monitoring afterreceiving minimally-invasive and invasive cardiac procedures. Theage range is from young adult (18 years) to geriatric (100) years.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs,performs treatments, procedures and special tests, and documenttreatment as required by company policy and local/state/federalrules and regulations. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostictests to identify and assess patients’ conditions. Assesses andevaluates patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.

Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care managementdecisions. Provides primary and emergency care for occupational andnon-occupational injuries and illnesses. Administersover-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.

Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for allpatients. Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintainstandards of professional nursing.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduateof a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma,Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred. Must holdcurrent NYS Registered Nurse license. Obtains and maintainscertification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac LifeSupport (ACLS). Previous experience as a PCA or other nursingassistance preferred. Ability to improve job performance throughcontinuing education. Possesses knowledge of quality concepts,principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques anddemonstrates ability to apply in support of departmental andpatient care quality improvement.
