General Staff Nurse – Part Time Westchester County Government 112 East Post Road, White Plains, NY 10601 The Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health is actively recruiting for a Part Time General Staff Nurse to provide direct nursing care to Adults for the department’s new outpatient mental health clinic in White Plains, NY. This Mental Health Outpatient Treatment and Rehabilitative Series Clinic (MHOTRS clinic) is a type of outpatient mental health clinic in NYS that allows for more flexibility in service delivery. The clinic offers a range of mental health services, including therapy, medication management and other rehabilitative services and is licensed by the NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH). The General Staff Nurse is expected to provide general care according to nursing and medical orders, medical evaluations and assessing patient’s needs.

Required Either:

(a) at time of temporary appointment, must possess a limited permit• to practice nursing, issued by the New York State Education Department•; or (b) at time of permanent appointment, possession of a valid license and current registration, issued by the New York State Education Department, as a Registered Nurse.

Special Requirement:

Certain positions require possession of a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of New York. Notes The number of years of experience required in the minimum qualifications is based upon the presumption of full-time employment. Part-time experience will be prorated based on a 35 hours work week. (2) Verified and documented volunteer (unpaid) experience will only be credited when specifically allowed by the job description or examination announcement. •

Special Note :

A new graduate of a school of nursing registered by the New York State Education Department may receive a temporary appointment to this title for a period of 90 days immediately following graduation and pending receipt of a limited permit for which an application has been filed. Such employment, authorized by Section 6907 of the NYS Education Law, shall be performed under the supervision of a professional nurse currently registered in New York State and with the endorsement of the employing agency.
