Job Summary The Lead Registered Nurse is responsible as theoffice point of contact for nursing and clinical activities.
Assists the Office Manager in maintaining daily clinical operationsand quality of care in accordance with established procedures,standards and regulatory requirements. Demonstrates and promotesprofessional development. Maintains a professional, safe andtherapeutic environment for rendering care Core JobResponsibilities Acts as the central point of contact for nursingand clinical standards within office setting. Acts as the centralpoint of contact for nursing clinical practice work flows as itrelates to the electronic medical record (EMR), includingdocumentation that supports patient centered medical home (pCMH)and quality initiatives (i.e. closure to gaps in care, overdueresults, etc.) Designated as the resource for the nursing/clinicalteam related to nursing scope of practice and skill competency.
Acts as mentor regarding nursing performance and learning needs.
Assists the Office Manager with the orientation of new hires onclinical policy and procedures; assists in the professionaldevelopment of staff; plays a key role in the competency assessmentprocess and nursing skill checklist completion. Designated as thenursing resource liaison between internal/external departments,such as laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and other key clinicalareas. Designated as either the primary or back-up coordinator tothe NYS Vaccine for Children’s Program and other vaccine relatedprograms. Assists office manager in coordinating and communicatingestablished nursing activities (I.e. educational sessions).Maintains knowledge of the organizational policy and procedures inorder to navigate, support, and ensure professional, safeenvironment while following regulatory requirements. Ensureclinical policies and procedures comply with current state andfederal guidelines. Clinical expert in their areas ofassignment(primary care or specialty); allows engagement with staff nurses inclinical decision making and problem solving. Ability to identifyand recommend solutions to procedural issues/opportunities andworks directly with the Office Manager to resolve. Recommendationsare to ensure quality, compliance, safety and cost efficiency.
Ensure and maintain adequate clinical supplies, medication storageand PAR level management. Ensures clinical equipment remains inoperation condition. Ensure emergency equipmentlmeds remain up todate and in appropriate operating condition. Attend office staffmeetings and relay pertinent information to clinical team memberstimely. Atterid periodic training sessions and meetings pertinentto position. Perform all duties as nursing support to assignedprovider or office; continues in support role.
Education/ExperienceRequirements Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or healthcarerelated field At least 2-3 years’ experience working within theprimary care or specialty office setting
Licensure/CertificationRequirements Required:
Active NYS Licensed
RN BLS/CPR
