Job Summary The staff nurse uses the nursing process to providepatient care consistent with acceptable standards of the professionand Community Medicine with a minimum amount of Faxton

Luke’sHealthcare supervision. Provides direct and indirect care in anoffice setting. Promotes high quality of care that reflectsinitiative, flexibility and responsibility. Determines prioritiesof care based on patient’s physical and psychosocial needs, as wellas factors influencing patient flow through the system.

Communicates with the Community Medicine providers about anychanges in a patient’s status Core Job Responsibilities

• Able toperform assessment data collection on all patients utilizing tool /forms in EMR
• Demonstrates ability to adequately assess andreassess pain. Educates the patient and family regarding painmanagement.
• Demonstrates skills necessary to provide ageappropriate care to patients in the community setting.
• Consistently documents procedures completed in the EMR, to includemedications administered and follow-up assessments
• Deliversmedication utilizing the five (5) rights and observes patient fordesired untoward effects.
• Maintains current knowledge ofmedications and their correct administration
• Demonstratesknowledge of EKG or cardiac tracing
• Establishes priorities ofpatient care based on needs and office resources
• Demonstrates theability to assist providers with procedures and perform servicesrequiring technical and manual skills

Education/ExperienceRequirements Required:

• Graduate of an accredited school ofnursing or nursing program

Licensure/Certification RequirementsRequired:

• Current New York State Professional NursingRegistration
