PA-C Full Job Description Qualifications:
Current clearances as required by law. B.S. degree. PA Certification as a Home & School Visitor. Knowledge and experience in working with the juvenile justice, and children and youth services systems. Demonstrates aptitude for successful completion of the tasks and all responsibilities assigned.
Job Goal:
Identify and eliminate barriers to students’ academic achievement and their healthy social-emotional development. Provide both direct and indirect services to help students achieve maximum benefit from educational experiences. Administer the compulsory attendance laws of the commonwealth and the appropriate policies of the District. Collaborate with staff to build a caring and supportive climate within the school and create an environment of wellness. Create and maintain good relationships with students, parents, other staff members, and relevant agencies.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Maintain polite and courteous attitude toward students, teachers, administrators, parents and visitors to the District. 2. Act as school district liaison to homeless students and their families. 3. Enforce the attendance laws of the Commonwealth of PA. 4. Act as school district liaison to Child Protective Services concerning reports of suspected child abuse and neglect. 5. Conduct investigations to ensure that students reside within the Sto-Rox School District boundaries. 6. Keep accurate daily records of student attendance and tardy cases. 7. Act as district attendance officer for students who are chronically absent, truant or tardy. Complete citation procedure for attendance problems as prosecuting party representing the district. 8. Provide proper and timely notification to parents regarding illegal or unexcused absences. 9. Maintain records of and determine legality of parental excuses. 10. Develop and submit local and state attendance reports. 11. Serve as District coordinator of the Student Assistance Program team for all buildings. 12. Review with school and nurse and administration excuses for early dismissals based upon medical or dental reasons. 13. Establish parental conferences between school agencies when deemed desirable or necessary. 14. Act as liaison between the school, the magistrate’s office and any other appropriate social and public agency. 15. Represent school district in all hearings involving any duties of this office. 16. Investigate students not reporting at the start of each school year. 17. Represent the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students in a professional manner. 18. Adhere to and maintain knowledge of all District policies and procedures. 19. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
