AGH is a Level I Shock Trauma Center 5 state of the art ICU’s State of the art Cancer Center 550+ Beds

THE UNIT

The Resource Nurse provides oversight, expertise and care for the entire hospital.

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Provides clinical oversight and expertise across all patient units to ensure that patient care is delivered in a safe and skilled manner; integrates the policies and procedures of the Department of Nursing to maintain continuity of quality care.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Functions in a lead capacity by assisting with clinical oversight of nursing personnel. Provides leadership and orientation to clinical personnel and for performing a variety of nursing duties in order to coordinate the delivery care to patients. Serves as a role model, leader, consultant, collaborator, educator and clinician. Maintains a positive image with all customers by enhancing communication regarding bed management between the critical care areas, telemetry units and emergency department. Works in conjunction with Intensivist to ensure emergency nursing management of exacerbations in patient conditions through the hospital. Provides in service on patient care to all staff of the assigned clinical areas. Collaborates with directors and managers to determine other necessary functions which will optimize patient outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum BSN Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). 3 years recent ICU RN experience required BLS and ACLS required Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) continuing education Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate 1st preference to employee on current night schedule in the RIC role 2nd preference to employee working in the RIC role
