$60,028.00 – $99,023.00Registered Nurse Gastroenterology Office Albany, NY OurGastroenterology Office at Albany Med is seeking a dynamicRegistered Nurse to join our team! This is a fast-paced clinic thatstrives to provide exceptional care for our patients. The RN willtriage patient phone calls and respond appropriately. Excellentcommunication and critical thinking skills are a must. Under theSupervision of the Nursing Supervisor and/or Nurse Manager, the RNprovides nursing support to primary and subspecialty providers.

This is demonstrated using the nursing process to workcollaboratively with the health-care team in planning, directing,providing and evaluating patient care. The RN is defined within thedepartment to provide patient care, triage, consultation andreferral among team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Obtains and accurately record patient’s vital signs; reportsabnormal values to treating provider Documents components ofpatient’s history (Medical, Surgical and Social) in EHR Obtains anddocuments a patient’s focused physical assessment, related to theclinic visit and as dictated by clinic procedure Administersmedications and treatments to patients in clinic, under thedirection of a physician or APP Assesses and documents response tomedication and treatments rendered to patient, if applicableCommunicates in an open and appropriate manner with patients,visitors and staff Participates in in-office procedures under thedirection and supervision of a Physician or APP Performs diagnosticPOCT and CLIA waived testing per MD/APP order and documents resultsin EHR Performs venipuncture per order of MD/APP Performs reviewand triage of incoming test results, patient requests and pharmacyrenewals; facilitates call-backs to patients as necessaryFacilitates the utilization of resources to meet patient outcomesand contribute to Facility (AMC), New York State and NationalQuality data metrics Prepares patient’s chart for pertinentclinical information Delegates tasks deemed appropriate perlicensure of LPN and/or MA Assists with in-office procedures, asrelated to Clinic Specialty Adheres to AMC’s regulatory agency (TheJoint Commission) and internal compliance policies Orientation andeducation of newly hired staff Completes continuous/annualeducation related to Clinic specialty to maintain knowledge base oncurrent practices Provides education to patients related to theirvisit and overall health and wellness Maintains inventory ofsupplies, and keeps patient examination rooms stocked

MinimumRequirements:

Associate degree of a state accredited RegisteredNursing program is required NYS Current RN licensure is requiredPrevious experience in a patient care setting preferred Excellentverbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectivelypresent information and respond to questions from physicians,patients and their family members or other employees within thework setting.
