- Shift differential:$2.00 /n
- Title and salary will be determined based upon educationand nursing experience. /n /n

- Utilizes nursingcare protocols and standards. /n
- Carries out and documentsprocedures according to Hospital Policy. /n
- Performs technicalskills safely and accurately, and demonstrates a working knowledgeof equipment. /n
- Transcribes and implements physicians’ ordersappropriately. /n
- Demonstrates knowledge of the physiologicalbasis for the nursing care delivery. /n
- Demonstrates knowledge ofmedication and IV therapy administration according to policy. /n
- Initiates and coordinates health teaching for patients andfamilies/significant other based on individual needs. /n /n /n
- Completes annual competency validation activities. /n

Evaluation:

- Revises plan of care, as necessary based ondaily evaluation of patient. /n
- Evaluates patient’s outcome basedon previously defined goals. /n
- Evaluates and documents thepatient’s response to care, teaching, and treatment. /n /n /n
- Utilizes Bed Management System, Alpha, CPOE, and all other computersystems appropriately, /n
- Maintains proficiency and competency inpoint of care testing as defined in the evaluation criteriaestablished by the laboratory. /n
- Identifies environmentalfactors which deter effective patient care, initiates action, andcontributes ideas towards resolution. /n
- Serves as a consultantto other members of the health-care team. /n
- Complies withestablished occupational exposure policies. /n
- Engages themedical staff and other professionals in discussion of patient careproblems resulting in mutually developed plans of care. /n
- Demonstrates professionalism in providing patient care. /n
- Identified potential problems and initiates appropriate measures./n

- Assesses patient and family needs anddocuments this information appropriately in the computer or onappropriate form. /n
- Reassesses patient every eight hours, and,as necessary. /n /n /n
- Adheres to universal precautions. /n

Planning:

- Includes the patient and family/significant otherin the formulation of the plan of care. /n
- Prioritizes patient’sneeds appropriately. /n
- Plans, conducts, and documents patientcare conferences. /n
- Maintains a current plan of care for eachassigned patient. /n
- Utilizes appropriate community agencies andother health care professionals in planning care. /n /n /n /n
- Must hold a current license to practice nursing in the State ofPennsylvania; must satisfactorily complete the Nursing Department’sorientation program and probationary period. /n
- Must completeNIHSS education prior to end of orientation period, if required. /n

- ACLS preferred, BLS required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

- Basic LifeSupport (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required basedon AHA standards that include both a didactic and skillsdemonstration component within 30 days of hire /n
- NIH StrokeScale (NIH) /n
- Registered Nurse (RN) /n
- Act 33 with renewal /n
- Act 34 with renewal /n
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal /n /n
- Current licensure either in the state where the facility islocated or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistateNursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate licenseissued by a participating NLC state.
